- Describe your overall vision for your site (outdoors and indoors)…
- What do you like most about this place?
- What do you dislike or want to get rid of?
- What do you want to preserve exactly as is?
- Please make a list of the vegetables and fruits you regularly consume and how much in kg/month.
- Now, indicate with a star the ones you would like to grow (it can be all!) and what percentage of your consumption. That’s the goal – in your street!
The streetgardener starts by:
Start a Wormfarm – get/build a bin – buy worms
Set up compost bins – source manure – prune trees – build heaps –possibility for 1rst workshp if interested
Collect enough pots for sowing – Order seeds – Calculate how much of each vege you need – SOW the double
Get cuttings for soft fruit
Pricking out – possiblity for giving away excess seedlings and 2nd workshop if interested
Get netting, loops, material… Ev. build pens for rabbit/chooks
Permablitz with people from the street:
- Open soil by double digging if clay, otherwise paper mulch whole area
- Put on compost + soil mix
